Looking for something to do on Sunday November 12th? The ASURA travel committee has organized a trip to the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM). If you or your grandchildren have not yet visited the MIM  this is your opportunity to view the huge variety of things that people use to make music. If you have already visited the MIM then this is an opportunity to uncover as yet undiscovered instruments.

At a recent performance at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, Samite, a Ugandan who plays many of the different African instruments, said his visit to the museum blew him away and maybe he should consider moving to Phoenix to be near the MIM.

The one hour guided tour begins at 10:00 am and will include a signature event - Ancient Musical Treasures from Central China: Harmony of the Ancients from the Henan Museum. After the guided tour you are free to roam the entire museum - see if you can find the Elvis display!. At 11:00 am for an additional fee there will be a concert featuring the ancient Chinese instruments.

Lunch is available at the Café Allegro in the museum, from 11 AM to 2:30 PM - cost for lunch is separate from the admission costs.

The MIM is located at 4725 East Mayo Drive. The major cross streets are the 101 freeway and Tatum Blvd. See map for details.
