The first Short Talks Luncheon of the 2023 spring semesterwill be on Tuesday, May 14th with presenters:  Kristin Valentine, Professor Emerita of Communication and Mark Lussier, Professor Emeritus of English.

  • Kristin’s talk is titled “Dead or Alive You are Going to Teixido: Cultural Folklore in Spanish Galicia.” 
  • Mark’s talk is titled ““Walking to Enlightenment: The Strange Case of Alexander Csoma.”
Lunch will be a plated meal:
  • Chicken Caesar Salad OR Vegetarian Mixed Greens Salad with fresh vegetables, and a plant-based  “Impossible Patty” sliced on top with Oil /Vinegar dressing
  • Dessert – Fresh Fruit Tart
  • Beverage (Iced Tea, Lemonade or Coffee)
  • Please specify if you would like a vegetarian lunch.

Lunch will cost $11.50 Please BRING CASH in the exact amount to pay for your lunch as no change will be available. 


*Friendship Village has asked that we inform you that if you RSVP and do not show up, you will remain responsible for your $11.50 lunch payment.

Friendship Village Tempe is located between Price and Dobson on Southern Avenue, on the South side. When you approach the gate, let the guard know that you are attending the ASU Emeritus College Short Talks Luncheon at the Private Dining Room, and he/she will let you through the gate and can assist you in finding the main building.
