Elizabeth Castillo
Assistant Professor
Leadership and Interdisciplinary Studies
Arizona State Universtiy
Economic inequality continues to grow at an alarming rate, contributing to record levels of political and social polarization in the United States and beyond. How can we overcome these challenges to create an economy that works for everyone?
Dr. Castillo will share her interdisciplinary research that identifies four novel interventions: 1) recognize, invest in, and account for intangible resources; 2) shift capitalism from parasitic to mutualistic exchange; 3) illuminate economic exchange as a process of value(s) creation; and 4) adopt humanistic management practices.
She will describe new efforts at ASU to enact these shifts, closing with an interactive discussion of how Emeritus College faculty can join this work locally and globally.
