Learn about your pension benefit, different annuity options, plus a helpful segment on “can you afford to retire?” to help you better prepare for the next stage of your life. Spencer Jeremiah has a vast knowledge of the ASRS and retirement processes. He will engage with our members and helping them make informed decisions about this life milestone. Please bring your questions to ask during the presentation

I’m already on Medicare – Now what?

Is the plan you signed up for still the right plan for your current needs? You have been on Medicare for a few years and are wondering if you are still in the right plan type. Can you change plans? What are the restrictions? And many more questions. Joe Craney, Jr and Joe Craney, III from Senior Preferred will provide educational information about Medicare and help you get your questions answered.

Medicare open enrollment is from October 15, 2026 - December 7, 2026

It's that time of year for the health insurance open enrollment period! This seminar will feature representatives from both ADOA and ASRS who will present on whatever you need to know to participate in the upcoming open enrollment period.

Apache Trail & Dolly Steamboat One-Day Van Tour (Tuesday, February 16, 2027)

Apache Trail & Dolly Steamboat One-Day Van Tour from Tempe

Location: Apache Trail & Canyon Lake
Van tour pickup at the Tempe Public Library parking lot
Cost: $152 (estimated cost includes tax and ASU Foundation overhead)

The ASU Retirees Association is planning a one-day van tour in February 2027 of the Apache Trail with a sightseeing trip on the Dolly Steamboat on Canyon Lake. The tour will begin at the Tempe Public Library parking lot where the vans from Across Arizona Tours will pick up tour participants between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. The vans will travel the legendary Apache Trail on the way to Canyon Lake. Once at Canyon Lake, participants will board the Dolly Steamboat for a trip around Canyon Lake. Vans will bring participants back to Tempe between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

At this time, we are taking reservations to determine if there is sufficient interest in doing this one-day tour. We are looking to reserve two vans, each holding 10 people (for a total of 20) at an estimated cost of $152 for the round trip van ride and the ride on the Dolly Steamboat. If you are interested in this tour, please register by January 5, 2027. No registration fees will be collected at this time. Once we know there is interest, we will set a date and then notify you of when payment is due, if you decide to participate in the tour.

The Silver Star Theatre Band performs a little bit of something for everyone. The ASURA Travel Committee is pleased to announce a Spring 2027 trip to the Canadian Rockies with Rocky Mountaineer Experience.

This 8-day trip (April 26 - May 3, 2027) travels from Vancouver to Calgary, featuring two scenic days aboard the Rocky Mountaineer (SilverLeaf Service) and private sightseeing tours in Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise.
